So why trust me with this information? I am a writer and a dancer. I have had some formal training in sizing and fitting dancewear. Because I have been through this training, I know what sizes to recommend in most dancewear brands. Sometimes the sizing that actually works is quire radically different from what is recommended by the manufacturer. Sometimes there is a reason for this (for example, Grishko pointe shoes size recommendations do not take toe pads into account), and sometimes there is not.
I dance with a local ballet company, and I take ballet class 5 to 6 days a week. I also take modern, though the schedule varies. In my youth, I also took ballroom, tap, jazz, Japanese dance, Irish dance, and gymnastics. Over the years, I have purchased and tried out numerous dancewear products and brands. I am always eager to try out a new product and see how it works for me.
There are some limitations to what kind of information I can provide. I am a girl, so I can't attest to men's products. I'm on the petite side (5'4", leotard size small to medium, ladies' size 5.5 or 6 shoe), so I can't attest to products with a taller/larger target audience. I currently do ballet and modern only. While I have done other styles in the past and I know about some products that I do not use, my best advice will be about things I use regularly and know well.
I hope that the information I provide will be helpful. Please leave comments or use the contact form at the bottom of the side bar to ask any questions you might have. I will answer them all to the best of my ability. (When using the contact form, you must provide a real, correct e-mail address in order for me to get back to you and answer your question. I will use this e-mail only to answer your questions; I will not keep it or send you anything else. If you are requesting a post about a specific topic, please specify this in your message.)

More about me
Hi. I like your blog and though I practice ballet on a recreational/fitness level, would like to have a ballet-based friendship with you. I do like practicing ballet more than watching it and do have questions and no one to really share them with. Am hoping you'd like to oblige. Sincerely, Michael.
