  1. I am traveling from Phoenix, Arizona to Birmingham, Alabama by airplane. I am bringing my pointe shoes with me. I haven't had to travel with my pointe shoes before. Should I bring them on my carry-on or do you think they will be fine in the checked baggage? I haven't been on pointe for a full year yet so I don't know much about this. I'm worried about the heat getting to them. It would be nice if you could help!

  2. I would pack your pointe shoes and toe pads in your carryon bag if possible. This is especially important if you will need your shoes soon after you arrive at your destination. You don't want to loose your shoes if your luggage gets lost. Make sure your bag is large enough to hold your shoes without squishing them, and wrap the shoes in a plastic bag to protect them from any possible spills.

    1. Yikes! I’m not 100% sure in this one... depending on how sturdy the leotards are, washing them in hot water one time might be ok. Just don’t throw them in the dryer afterwards. Otherwise, if you don’t beed the leos immediately, I think putting them in an airtight bag for a period if a couple weeks could kill the bugs? Though speak to someone knowledgeable in pest control to confirm this.
