Leotards with mesh detail have been on the scene for a long time, but they have never been more popular than they are right now. Yumiko, another major custom dancewear brand available at http://global.yumiko-online.com/, recently introduced mesh as an option for some of their leotard styles. At this time, mesh is only available in black and white.
Body Wrappers debuted the Tiler Peck collection last spring, and since its debut, the line has rolled out many leos with mesh sleeves and other details. This pick, available from discount dance and some local dance retailers, features a polka dot design on the mesh sleeves.
What choice of undergarments (i.e. sports bra for support) do you suggest with this type of leo?
ReplyDeleteMost dancers choose not to wear a bra under leos with mesh details. Some styles have linings that offer support, but others do not. The truth is if you wear a bra under a leo with mesh, it will show. This does not always look bad if you choose a style of bra compatible with the cut and color of the leotard. Pick a bra with a relatively low, straight a cross back and non-crossed straps. Make sure the bra is the same color as the non-mesh part of the leotard. If all goes well, the bra will be completely hidden under the opaque fabric and only the straps will show under the mesh (sometimes this can look like more detail that is part of the leo).
